Alachua Man with Previous Battery Convictions Released on Bond after Domestic Battery Arrest

Jermaine Isiah Jacob, 35, was arrested on Saturday and charged with battery by a repeat offender.
The victim told police that Jacob punched her in the face during an argument over her being late to pick him up at work. The victim had a bruise near her eye that was consistent with her statements.
Jacob denied touching the victim.
Jacob was released on a $40,000 bond. He’s been ordered to not contact the victim or possess any weapons.
In 2019, Jacob was convicted of battery.
Jacob was convicted of domestic battery by strangulation in 2020.
