Alachua Man Sentenced to Two Weeks in Jail for Violating Domestic Violence Injunction

Samuel Phillip Luciano, 49, was arrested on August 24, 2024, and charged with violating a domestic violence injunction. 

The victim told police she was exiting Publix and returning to her vehicle when she heard Luciano call out to her nearby from his pickup truck, stating, “I didn’t know that was your vehicle.”

Luciano got out of the vehicle and approached the victim to hug their child, not abiding by court orders forbidding him from being within 500 feet of the victim. Luciano did not leave until the victim told him she would call the police. 

Alachua Police Department Officer Brody Wetzel reported that Luciano admitted to violating the protection order. 

On March 25, 2025, ​​Luciano was adjudicated guilty after pleading no contest and sentenced to 15 days in jail with 6 days time served, followed by one year of probation.
