Stephen Daniel Young, 41, was arrested on November 2 and charged with child cruelty.

The State Attorney's Office filed a motion for pretrial detention on Young; however, it was revoked shortly after.

On November 18, Young made a motion to be released recognizance or have a bond. Young currently does not have a specified bond.

Young’s public defender states she will “present information at the November 25, 2024, hearing that will relate to the safety of the community and the Defendants’ ties to the community as well as where he will live if released.”

Young has reportedly promised to abide by all court orders and attend all required appearances if released.

Young’s arrest report isn’t posted on the Alachua County court records website.
