APD Arrests Man for Allegedly Threatening Woman with Hammer
Keon Daondre Peebles, 25, was arrested Thursday night and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, cyberstalking and giving false identification to a law enforcement officer.
The victim contacted the Alachua Police Department (APD) around 10:00 p.m. and advised that Peebles entered into her vehicle’s passenger seat while she was in the driver seat and threatened to hit her with a hammer if she attempted to leave or contact anyone.
APD officers were able to contact the victim at a Circle K gas station (15089 NW US Hwy 441). Peebles reportedly told officers his name was “Devon Waters.”
Peebles already had a warrant issued for his arrest due to violating his probation in a cocaine possession case.
Peebles’ bond is set at $105,000, but he is currently ineligible for pretrial release due to his probation violation.
