Michael Andrew Washington, 42, was arrested on Friday and charged with battery with a prior battery conviction.

A witness told police that Washington threw a beer can at the victim and pushed her while in an outside gazebo.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Michael Altman reported that Washington was “heavily intoxicated at the time of contact…. He stated he didn’t touch anyone inside the gazebo.”

Washington’s bond is set at $10,000.

Washington has one prior conviction for battery from 2003 and two prior convictions for domestic battery from 2006 and 2023, respectively.

Washington’s arrest form from last year states he threatened to kill the victim if he got out of prison.
