Convicted Sexual Predator Arrested for Dating Violence and Felony Battery
Convicted sexual predator Darryl Lamar White, 57, was arrested on New Year's Eve and charged with domestic battery by strangulation and felony battery by a repeat offender.
White reportedly got mad at the victim because she lost her phone and grabbed her by the throat. White threw her to the ground before kicking her in the collarbone.
White found the victim’s phone, and the two began walking to Shands. The victim managed to separate from White and contact the police.
Police found White nearby with the victim’s phone. He was also charged with drug possession for possessing cannabis.
White denied hitting the victim to police, reportedly claiming she “set him up because he did not provide her money to buy dope.”
White was convicted of sexual battery against a child in 2014 and sentenced to seven years in prison followed by 15 years of probation.
The victim told police she couldn’t breathe when White grabbed her.
The victim had visible injuries on her neck and collarbone.
White has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office.
