Crazy Ex-Boyfriend Arrested For Cyberstalking
Alden Amato Medina, 20, was arrested on Friday and charged with aggravated cyberstalking.
The arrest report states that Medina and the victim broke up at the start of September after dating for three years. Medina texted the victim non-stop over the next three weeks, threatening to kill himself.
After the victim blocked Medina, he continued to text her, sending her over 100 messages from about 30 different phone numbers.
Medina left 27 handwritten notes on the victim’s car that had similar threats of suicide.
The victim told police that Medina has a history of threatening suicide during arguments.
Medina is reportedly known to carry firearms, increasing the threats' credibility.
Medina was arrested at his home in Newberry.
After his arrest, Medina reportedly acknowledged that the victim told him to stop contacting her, but answered all other questions about the messages by stating, “I don’t recall” and “It isn’t important.” Medina claimed the victim “should not have been scared” because he “never threatened to do harm to [her].”
Medina has received four letters of support from presently unknown parties.
Medina has no bond pending a motion of pretrial detention by the State Attorney’s Office.
