Firefighters Respond to Flooding at Former That 80s Bar Location on New Years Eve

Gainesville Fire and Rescue (GFR) responded to the former location of That 80s Bar on New Years Eve after a water pipe began leaking furiously.

A downtown patron attempted to use a metal bar as a bridge but didn’t make it across.

Several GFR firefighters and one Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officer responded to the scene.

GFR quickly took care of the leaky pipe but the alarm continues going off and the entire building is flooded. GFR blocked off the entrance with caution tape.
