Former Florida Gators Defensive End and EX-NFL Player, Arrested on Drug and Weapons Charges

On the late evening of Wednesday, January 29th, K9 Deputy M. Griffeth conducted a traffic stop on a black Jeep utility vehicle that was being driven by Earl James Okine, after he observed the driver fail to stop for a stop sign.
During the traffic stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle, which resulted in Deputies locating 1.9 grams of crystalized Methamphetamine, a small amount of Marijuana and a Smith and Wesson handgun that was loaded with an extended magazine containing multiple rounds of ammunition.
Okine was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm while in the Commission of a Felony and Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams.
Okine played for the Florida Gators from 2008-2012 and went on to play both NFL and arena football.
