Gainesville Man Arrested and Charged with Domestic Battery and Property Damage

Javanis Joshua Ross, 30, was arrested on Thursday and charged with domestic battery and property damage.

While sitting in the victim’s vehicle, Ross reportedly began trying to take her phone. 

The arrest report states Ross and the victim engaged in a tussle, and he bit her on the shoulder before smashing her phone on the ground. 

The victim showed police her smashed phone and had a visible bite mark on her shoulder.

Ross told police he wanted to search the victim’s phone because he believed she was cheating. Ross claimed the victim willingly gave him the phone and that he returned it “undamaged.” Ross denied biting the victim. 

Ross was released on Friday after posting a $6,500 bond.
