Gainesville Man Arrested for Battery and False Imprisonment

Thaddeus Chaylon Martin, 40, was arrested last week and charged with domestic battery and false imprisonment. 

Martin reportedly punched the victim in an argument and pushed her to the ground. He then choked her, preventing her from leaving the residence for 15 minutes. 

The victim managed to escape with Martin chasing her. She took refuge at a safer location. 

Martin retained the victim’s phone and keys after the attack. 

Martin’s bond is set at $60,000.
