Gainesville Man Arrested for Dating Violence, Released on Recognizance

Isaiah Michael Griffin, 22, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with dating violence. 

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Skyler Lawson reported the following:

"I made contact with [Griffin] and the victim. I then separated both parties…. [Griffin]  spontaneously uttered to me that earlier, [he] grabbed the victim to get [her] out of his vehicle.... Other deputies continued speaking with [Griffin] while I made contact with the victim. The victim stated that the couple was in a verbal argument over [her] driving [Griffin’s] vehicle and over cell phones. The victim then stated to me that [Griffin]  put his hands around her shoulders and tried to move her. The victim also stated that[Griffin] placed his hands on her chest near her neck but did not try to choke her.”

Griffin was released on recognizance by Judge Susan Miller-Jones under orders that he not contact the victim.
