Xavier Devante Davis, 33, was arrested on March 30 and charged with felony battery with a prior battery conviction.

The victim was sitting in her brother’s truck when Davis reportedly went up to the vehicle and began banging a bottle on the window. The victim opened the door and told Davis to go away. Davis reportedly reached into the vehicle and grabbed the victim’s phone.

The victim got out of the vehicle to try and get her phone back, and Davis reportedly pulled her away and got into the truck, stating he was going to steal it. With the victim’s phone in hand, Davis reportedly put the truck in reverse. The victim tried to reach into the vehicle to grab her phone, and Davis reportedly grabbed her hair before hitting her in the face after she retrieved her phone.

The victim had visible bruising to her eye.

Davis’ bond is set at $10,000.

In November 2024, Davis was found guilty of domestic battery by strangulation and sentenced to six months in jail with 37 days time served.
