Gainesville Man Arrested for Eye Gouging

Jason Joel McKnight, 51, was arrested last week and charged with aggravated battery. 

The victim showed up at McKnight’s house because he had an upcoming doctor appointment. When the victim got to the residence, McKnight reportedly pinned the victim to the ground. McKnight began gouging her in the eyes with his fingers, causing the victim to bite one of his fingers.  

McKnight’s attack left the victim with scratches and bloodshot-red eyes. 

The State Attorney’s Office has filed a pretrial detention motion on McKnight to be heard by Judge James Colaw Tuesday.
