Gainesville Man Arrested for Hitting Woman in Back of Head

Dakota Lee Davis, 28, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery.

A witness called police, stating Davis hit the victim in the back of the head. 

Davis fled the scene after the witness called the police.

The victim told police that Davis hit her in the head with an unknown object, causing her to fall to the ground. The victim had injuries to the back of her head and ear. 

Davis reportedly continued to batter and antagonize the victim while she was on the ground. 

After police contacted Davis, he reportedly “admitted to yelling at and antagonizing the victim.”

Davis was released on recognizance under the condition he not contact the victim.
