Gainesville Man Arrested for Intimidation After Texting Victim over 100 Times in One Day and Threatening Her Life
Tyrone Alanza Powell, 23, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with intimidation and aggravated stalking.
Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Officer Major Clark reported that Powell had been threateningly texting the victim since July.
On Tuesday, Powell texted the victim, “I will kill you in your sleep if you keep gaslighting me,” said he was at her job, and that he’d kill her if she didn’t respond.
Security cameras showed Powell walking outside the victim’s place of employment.
Powell would later take a picture outside the victim’s apartment and send it to her.
Powell sent the victim over 100 text messages on Tuesday alone.
Powell put the victim in substantial distress and fear for her life.
Powell has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office.
