Gainesville Man Arrested For Threatening Woman and Kid With Firearm
Gregory Hill, 34, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with child cruelty and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the arrest report, around midnight, Hill and his girlfriend got into an argument over bill payments. Hill demanded the victim give him debit cards, and she refused, leading to him threatening her and her child.
Hill reportedly fired a round that ricocheted off the wall and landed on the floor near the front door. The victim and her child were close to Hill when he fired the gun.
The victim gave Hill the debit cards. Hill told her, “I’m not in the right mind to deal with this,” as he left the residence with the debit cards.
Police were waiting for him at the front of the complex.
The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) found a single .45 caliber shell casing on the scene.
Hill reportedly told officers that the altercation was “verbal” and that he “did not see any gun or hear a gun go off.”
Hill's bond is set at $75,000. He'll have to wear an ankle monitor if released.
