Gainesville Man Arrested For Two Counts of Domestic Battery by Strangulation
Capers Douglas, 62, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of domestic battery by strangulation.
The arrest report states Douglas strangled a woman he had an on-and-off relationship with because she didn’t want to have sex. Douglas has two counts because he momentarily halted the strangling to put the victim on a bed before choking her again.
The victim reported that Douglas had been sexually abusive for years.
Douglas wrote on his first appearance order that he’s been employed with North Florida Regional Hospital for six months.
Douglas has no bond pending a motion of pretrial detention by the State Attorney’s Office.
