Gainesville Man Arrested on Warrant for Attacking Family Members

Randy James Gillis, 44, was arrested on Tuesday on a warrant for one case of aggravated battery and another case for larceny, crimes against a disabled adult, and battery with a prior conviction. 

On August 8, 2024, Gillis reportedly attacked his uncle with a box cutter, leaving slashes on his face.

On December 16, 2024, Gillis reportedly punched his sick mother and shoved her to the ground before stealing her bank card.

Gillis’ bond is set at $220,000.

In January 2020, Gillis was found guilty for one case of attempted aggravated battery and another case for obstruction of justice and a second subsequent battery offense.
