Gainesville Man Arrested on Warrant for Domestic Battery Months After Incident
Aaron Sylvester Hope, 24, was arrested on Wednesday on a domestic battery warrant.
Hope was initially charged via sworn complaint in May. Hope reportedly punched the victim in the face, grabbed her by the throat, shoved her to the ground and fled the scene.
Hope claimed he had not been around the victim at all when police contacted him over the phone.
Hope’s bond is set at $40,000.
Hope was granted a withheld adjudication in a domestic battery case last year after he pled no contest on a plea deal. Hope was sentenced to a year of probation.
Hope had already violated his probation in April for not completing the Batterers’ Intervention Program and owing court fees.
