Marcus H Calloway, 32, was arrested on Thursday on warrants for domestic battery and a Gainesville open alcohol container municipal ordinance violation.

On April 15, Calloway reportedly picked up his ex-girlfriend in his vehicle. While in the car, Calloway asked if they should get back together and she declined. Calloway got mad and started poking the victim in her face and tugging her arm.

When the victim was exiting the vehicle Calloway reportedly pushed her out of it before driving away.

Gainesville Police Department Officer Brianna Zayas-Pabst reported that Calloway was texting the victim during her investigation.

The sworn complaint doesn’t say if the messages related to the incident.

Zayas-Pabst reported that she tried to call Calloway and he didn’t answer.

Calloway was arrested a few weeks later for violating Gainesville’s municipal ordinance against carrying open alcohol containers in an undesignated area.

Calloway was released on bond but would have warrants filed in July for both of his cases due to not appearing at his scheduled court date.

Calloway’s bond is set at $2,061.
