Gainesville Man Blames Victim After Punching Her
Travis Ray Trowell, 30, was arrested last week and charged with aggravated battery in a domestic incident.
The victim arrived home to find Trowell locked in her room with someone else. After attempting to get through the door, the victim went outside and took the AC unit off her bedroom window. Trowell struck the victim through the window, causing bruises to her face.
One of the victim’s family members witnessed Trowell hit the victim.
Trowell claimed the victim “was the primary aggressor” and told police the victim was “too far away” for him to be able to attack.
Alachua County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jose Gonzalez reported that Trowell “has a video recording of the incident; however, the video does not show a clear picture of the incident.”
Judge James Colaw set Trowell’s bond at $250,000 after the State Attorney’s Office notified the court they would not seek pretrial detention.
