Gainesville Man Caught Strangling Woman on Camera

Lexly Miguel Roberts, 24, was arrested on Friday and charged with battery with a prior battery conviction and domestic battery by strangulation. 

Officer Joshua Harmon reported that he, Sergeant Stephanie Pridgen and Officer Larry Prunty found Roberts attacking the victim when they arrived at the scene. 

The officers separated Roberts from the victim. The victim told them Roberts punched her several times and choked her unconscious after finding out she had a new boyfriend. Surveillance footage further proved her account.  

In 2010, Roberts was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 

In 2017, Roberts was convicted of domestic battery for dragging his partner. 

Roberts has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office.
