Gainesville Man Released on Bond After Arrest for Domestic Battery

Michael Scott Brannon, 39, was arrested on Saturday and charged with domestic battery.

The victim gave Brannon a ride home from his workplace in Ocala to their residence in Gainesville. Brannon reportedly appeared intoxicated and fell asleep in the car. When the victim arrived home, Brannon would not respond to her attempts to wake him up, so she went into the house by herself. 

While the victim was in the bathroom, Brannon reportedly entered and grabbed her by the throat, pushing her against a wall. Brannon then let go and walked away. The victim had a large bruise from her face hitting the wall.

Brannon was released on a $15,000 bond and has been ordered to not contact the victim and not possess any weapons or drugs.
