Gainesville Man Released on Recognizance After Child Cruelty Arrest
Murdolph Jones, 40, was arrested last week and charged with child cruelty.
On December 12, the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) responded to Jones’ residence.
A preteen family member of Jones’ told GPD that Jones struck him in the face with a belt and that his injuries were still healing.
The victim confirmed Jones’ physical abuse in an interview with the Child Advocacy Center.
A witness told police they noticed the victim had visible injuries after being alone with Jones.
Jones made comments to police, but they were redacted by GPD Records.
Judge Susan-Miller Jones ordered Murdolph Jones to be released on recognizance under the conditions he doesn’t possess weapons, doesn’t contact the victim, and makes no unsupervised contact with minors.
