Gainesville Man with Prior Domestic Battery Conviction Arrested for Battery and Tampering with a Victim

Ja'Kari Quintarius Frazier, 25, was arrested last week and charged with felony battery with a prior conviction and tampering with a victim.

On March 13, at 9:20 p.m. Frazier reportedly spat on the victim during an argument. The victim got her phone to call the police and Frazier used physical force to take the phone away.

A witness at the scene told police an account the corroborated the victim’s story, and he filled out a sworn statement.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jose Gonzalez reported “After advising [Frazier] of his Miranda rights, he admitted to spitting on the victim, but advised it was an accident as sometimes saliva comes out of his mouth when he speaks loudly. [Frazier] also admitted to taking the phone away from the victim and said that he was confronting her for ‘making a false report.’”

Frazier’s bond is set at $75,000.

In March 2022, Frazier was found guilty of two counts of domestic battery and sentenced to three years of probation.
