Gainesville Man’s Anger over Dog Urine Leads to Battery and Arrest
Jonathan Andrew Whitenack, 22, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with domestic battery.
Whitenack was arguing with the victim because their dog urinated on its crate. Whitenack reportedly grabbed the urine-soaked blanket and threw it on the victim. The argument continued, and Whitenack intentionally bumped into the victim while walking past her, and she threw up her hands. Whitenack then grabbed the victim by the neck and threw her to the ground.
After battering the victim, Whitenack threatened to kill himself and armed himself with a kitchen knife before slitting his wrist.
Whitenack admitted to throwing the urine-soaked blanket at the victim but claimed she slapped him before he beat her.
Whitenack’s bond is set at $15,000.
