Terrell William Davis, 54, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated battery.

The victim was walking in a hallway at Grace Market Place when Davis shoved her and started an argument. The victim attempted to walk away from Davis, but he blocked her with his arm.

Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Officer Benjamin Mullins reports “The altercation quickly escalated, and [Davis] struck the victim in the left cheek area with a closed fist causing [her] to stumble backwards. Other residents quickly intervened to separate [Davis] from the victim and bring [her] to safety.”

Grace Market Place employees gave GPD officers surveillance footage of the incident.

Davis told police the victim shoved him and that he shoved her back and hit her in response. Davis denied shoving the victim first even after being told the incident was caught on camera.

Davis’ bond is set at $150,000.
