High Springs Man Arrested and Charged with Rape and Voyeurism

David Joseph Dixon, 20, was arrested on February 6 and charged with sexual battery, three counts of voyeurism, and three counts of voyeurism dissemination.
On January 31, around 10:00 p.m., Dixon and the victim were hanging out at her apartment when Dixon reportedly stated, “My lips hurt; give me a kiss.” The victim told Dixon she did not want to kiss him, and he left the apartment.
A few hours later, Dixon requested to come over to the victim’s apartment to watch TV. The victim asked if he was sober, and he said he was. When he arrived, Dixon and the victim watched TV on her bed and smoked cannabis from Dixon’s vape pen.
Alachua County Sheriff's Office Deputy Ryan Depete reported that Dixon admitted to lying about being sober and "admitted to prompting the sexual intercourse, then requested to speak with an attorney."
After the victim became intoxicated, Dixon raped her and recorded three videos. Dixon later sent the three videos to the victim.
The victim told police Dixon took advantage of her intoxication level.
On February 11, the State Attorney’s Office filed a pretrial detention motion on Dixon, which was granted by Judge David Kreider a few days later.
