The High Springs Police Department published the following press release on Facebook today about their arrest of John David Mills for voyeurism:

“The investigation began earlier today when an adult female shopper reported that while she was using a changing room, an individual in the neighboring stall extended a recording device above the partition and began filming her as she undressed. The victim noticed the device, yelled at the offender, and attempted to confront him. The suspect fled the store on foot and was later seen leaving the area.
High Springs Police officers immediately initiated an investigation, employing advanced investigative techniques to identify and locate the suspect. The suspect is a registered sex offender with a known history of similar offenses in another state. He has been charged with video voyeurism, and additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
’This arrest highlights the swift action and dedication of our officers in protecting the community and holding offenders accountable,’ said Chief of Police Antoine Sheppard. ’We commend the victim for their quick thinking and bravery in reporting the incident, which enabled us to respond promptly.’
