Hillsborough County Man Booked in Alachua County for Felony Battery

Delord Kendrick Anderson, 22, was booked into the Alachua County Jail on Saturday on a warrant for felony battery.
Anderson was charged via sworn complaint on June 15, 2024, after he reportedly struck the victim twice in the face during an argument. The sworn complaint states the victim had a scratch mark on her neck from Anderson strangling her.
The victim told Anderson she needed to go to the hospital. The sworn complaint doesn’t clarify who drove, but Anderson and the victim went to the hospital together. While on the way, Anderson reportedly continued to batter the victim and made a statement to the effect of “If I’m going to jail, I might as well finish it.” When they arrived at the hospital, the victim tried to walk inside, and Anderson reportedly tried to stop her, digging his nails into her skin.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Kimberly Heskett reported, “Efforts to locate [Anderson] were unsuccessful, he has no local ties.”
In October 2024, Anderson was arrested by the Tampa Police Department for reckless driving, fleeing police, resisting without violence, driving without a license, and driving without a registered vehicle. Anderson was found guilty on all counts last week and subsequently transported to the Alachua County Jail to face his felony battery charge.
In January 2023, Anderson was found guilty in Hillsborough County court for burglary and aggravated battery against a pregnant woman.
Anderson’s bond is set at $50,000.
Anderson has an arraignment scheduled for March 25.
