On August 15, 2024, Randall Lshane Lloyd was arrested and charged with false imprisonment and domestic battery.

The sworn complaint states that Lloyd and the victim were in an argument about people he was texting. The victim told police Lloyd threw her to the ground and held her down, preventing her from moving.

After Lloyd was arrested he admitted to throwing the victim to the ground and claimed it was because the victim “got in his face.”

A day after Lloyd’s arrest he got booked on another case for charges of robbery and grand theft. The arrest report by Gainesville Police Department Officer Steven Dose reads as follows:

[On December 22, 2023, at 9:37 p.m.], GPD patrol responded to a report of an armed robbery at 2107 NW 13th St (Smoke City) Surveillance video (with audio) showed the suspect enter the store brandishing what appeared to be a black handgun saying "I need money and weed, right now" The suspect placed a brown paper bag on the counter where the clerks placed money from the cash register and THC products into the bag. The suspect then walked out of the store with approximately $600-$800 cash and $200 worth of THC products. The suspect was a black male wearing a green elf onesie with red trim on the end of the sleeves, pants legs, and hood. The hood of the onesie had a red ball at the end. The suspect also had a black and gray backpack with black cord crisscrossed on the top and a large red/yellow logo on the bottom rear portion. The suspect had what appeared to be a black handgun and pointed it multiple times at both clerks throughout the robbery. The suspect also had a black watch and a thick ring with thin metallic bands around the outside and black in the center
On [August 15, 2024], GPD patrol responded to 1324 NW 16th Ave (Georgetown Apartments) in reference to a domestic battery…. During the investigation WIT 1, who is the mother of WIT 2, produced a green and red elf onesie costume and said the DEF was responsible for the robbery of a smoke shop months prior. WIT 1 added that she had seen the DEF wearing this costume in the past and that she had washed it for him. The costume was identical to the one seen in the surveillance video. The DEF also fit the build of the suspect in the video. The DEF also lives in close proximity of where the robbery occurred…. At the time of the DEF's arrest for domestic battery he was wearing a thick ring with silver trim on the outside and black in the center.
Similar to the one seen in the surveillance video. Post Miranda the DEF denied any involvement in the robbery. The DEF did identify the handgun given to your affidavit by WIT 2 as belonging to him. After speaking with the DEF his voice was consistent with the suspect's voice in the surveillance video.”

Lloyd was booked for another case last week and charged with burglary and grand theft.

The sworn complaint states Lloyd took advantage of his former employment at Big Mills Cheesesteaks to steal $1,196 out of their lockbox.

Big Mills told GPD Officer Andrew Bunevich that he suspected Lloyd because he’d recently been fired, knew the safe combination, and had a similar build to the suspect caught on their surveillance video.

Bunevich goes on to report he “showed WIT2 the video from Big Mills. The WIT2 identified the backpack and the clothing that the DEF was wearing during the burglary as his clothes. The WIT2 stated that the unique backpack belongs to the DEF's family and he has since returned it.”

Judge David Kreider granted the State Attorney‘s Office‘s motion for pretrial detention on Lloyd.

Lloyd has an arraignment scheduled for October 8.
