Jacksonville Man Arrested for Beating Victim After Stealing Her Credit Card
Raymond Tavares Woods, 33, was arrested Sunday morning and charged with domestic battery.
On January 2 the victim told police she and Woods were arguing over a credit card he took from her. The victim tried to get her credit card back when Woods punched her in the stomach and slammed her on the ground before fleeing the scene.
The victim had visible injuries on her face and arms.
On Sunday the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office observed a white Tesla stopped in the middle of W Newberry Rd. A deputy pulled the vehicle over at the Oaks Mall and found the driver to be Woods.
Woods did not speak to police after he was arrested.
Woods’ arrest report states he resides in Jacksonville, but the incident occurred at the Quality Inn in Gainesville.
Woods’ bond is set at $5,000.
