Joseph’s Nail Salon Owner Arrested for Sexual Battery
Tuan Duy Pham, 49, was arrested last week and charged with sexual battery.
Pham goes by Joseph and owns Joseph’s Nail Salon (2126 SW 34th St).
After doing the victim’s nails, Pham asked her if she wanted a free Brazilian wax. Joseph’s Nail Salon doesn’t normally offer the service below the neck.
Pham reportedly completed the Brazilian wax and sexually battered the victim with his mouth. The victim told Pham no when he attempted to rape her, and he stopped.
Gainesville Police Department Officer Matthew Quinn reported Pham “denied performing oral sex on the victim or removing his penis from his pants."
Joseph's Nail Salon's website states "There is nothing more important to us than your safety and comfort when you visit our salon. That's why we pledge to adhere to the highest industry standards."
The State Attorney’s Office made a pretrial detention motion on Pham, but it was denied by Judge James Colaw. Colaw set Pham’s bond at $225,000 and ordered he wear a GPS monitor if released.
Colaw banned Pham from Joseph’s Nail Salon.
Colaw ordered Pham to turn in his green card and passport to the Alachua County Clerk of Court.
