Omar Sanchez-Lopez, 29, was arrested on Saturday and charged with aggravated battery against a pregnant victim.

Sanchez-Lopez reportedly slapped the victim during an argument.

Sanchez-Lopez has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office.

Sanchez-Lopez’s arresting officer, Larry Prunty, was charged with child abuse in 2023 after allegedly pulling a knife on a 10-year-old. The charges were dropped a few months after his arrest.

Prunty’s criminal case may have been expunged from the Alachua County Court Records website. When looking up Prunty’s case number, (01-2023-CF-003489-A) nothing comes up.
