Man Arrested at Crossings at Santa Fe Apartments for Pulling Gun
Cordarius Deshawn Lemar Davis, 24, was arrested Wednesday night at the Crossings at Santa Fe Apartments.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Ayanis Minaya responded after receiving calls about a domestic incident.
Minaya made contact with Davis and placed him into her patrol vehicle with handcuffs on.
Minaya reported the following:
“[Davis] explained that he and the victim were in her bedroom. [Davis] saw text messages on the victim’s phone from her ex-boyfriend and confronted her about it. [Davis] stated that the victim then got angry that he was going through her phone and began shoving and hitting him with open and closed-handed blows. [Davis] stated that he got tired of this and shoved the victim. Post Miranda, [Davis] added that he grabbed [and] pointed his firearm at the victim and stated ‘I will do something to you.’ [Davis] knowingly and willingly, grabbed his firearm, which was on top of the dresser, and pointed at the victim causing her to have a well-founded fear for her life.
During the interview with the victim, she provided a different account of events. The victim stated that while they were in the bedroom, [Davis] wanted to have sex with her. The victim replied ‘no’ because she was tired and did not want to. [Davis] got angry over this and began accusing her of being with someone else. [Davis] then grabbed his firearm and pointed it at the right side of her stomach. The victim got up from the bed and [Davis] once again pointed the firearm at the victim. but this time it was to her face. The victim, out of fear, was able to get out of the room and run out of the residence.”
Davis has no bond pending a pretrial detention motion by the State Attorney’s Office.
