Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery After Victim Fights Back
On December 1, Parny Pierre, 23, returned home without food for his partner.
Pierre was making music on his laptop, and the victim asked why he didn’t bring food.
Pierre reportedly got up and attempted to punch the victim but missed.
Pierre told police that the victim swung back, and her hit landed.
The victim told police that Pierre began choking her, so she choked him back in self-defense. Pierre reportedly pushed the victim into a mirror, causing it to shatter.
The victim had minor lacerations and declined medical assistance when healthcare workers arrived.
After his arrest, Pierre claimed that the victim hit him with a hammer and that the fight started because he took it.
Pierre “was referring to a rubber mallet that was approximately 5 inches in length as a hammer,” reported Gainesville Police Department Officer Joshua Harmon.
Pierre was charged with domestic battery by strangulation and aggravated battery.
Pierre’s bond is set at $100,000.
