Man Arrested For Battery and Domestic Violence Injunction Violation
Devarise Naquan Isiah Thomas, 28, was arrested on Monday on a warrant for battery by a convicted batterer.
On October 30, State Attorney Brian Kramer formally filed charges stating Thomas punched the victim in the face on February 23 while having a previous battery conviction.
Sunday night, police responded after Thomas stole the victim’s iPad. The victim didn’t want to pursue theft charges after the iPad was recovered, but Thompson was arrested for his active warrant and for making contact with the victim due to his domestic violence injunction.
Thomas has another case for violating his domestic violence injunction against the victim.
On December 3, the victim reported that Thomas called her and asked where she was. The victim stated the bus stop and observed Thomas at the bus stop shortly after. The victim ran away, and Thomas followed her while yelling. The victim escaped onto a Regional Transit System (RTS) bus.
Thomas’ bond is set at $135,000.
