Man Arrested for Domestic Battery by Strangulation

Gainesville Police Department officers arrested Jarred Andre’ Jerome Topp, 33, on Tuesday and charged him with domestic battery by strangulation.

The victim and Topp were arguing about money while she was sitting, with him standing, states the arrest report.

The victim told police that Topp picked her up by her neck and threw her against their bed. Still holding the victim’s throat, Topp then threw her into the wall. Topp reportedly told the victim that he wanted to break her collarbone.

After being detained by police, Topp reportedly admitted to battering the victim.

Topp was released after posting a $40,000 bond.
