Man Arrested for Pushing and Hair Pulling

Freddie Lee Neal, 48, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with domestic battery.

Neal attempted to get money from the victim’s bag without her permission. When she saw him, she asked what he was getting the money for. The argument escalated, and the victim told Neal he needed to get help for his alcohol problem. In response, Neal reportedly pulled the victim’s hair and pushed her on the right shoulder.

A witness told police she heard yelling and items being thrown from the room Neal and the victim were in. The witness said she walked in the room and saw Neal grabbing the victim’s hair before pushing her. The witness attempted to intervene, and Neal shoved her. Neal reportedly left the house after shoving the witness.

Gainesville Police Department Officer Elavio Escobar reports “After speaking with all parties involved, I was unable to establish probable cause for the battery reported by the witness.”

Neal denied hitting the victim and grabbing her hair. 

Neal’s bond is set at $2,000.
