Man Arrested For Threatening Gun in Argument with Spouse
Ponzo Robinson, 42, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of battery and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
During an argument with his spouse, an intoxicated Robinson threatened to arm himself with a gun.
Robinson went to get a shotgun and engaged in a struggle with the victim.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Issac Minck called the victim "uncooperative,” but he did come to the conclusion that Robinson was the aggressor.
The State Attorney’s Office originally intended to file a motion but later retracted, citing a lack of eligibility. Robinson will have a bond set at a later date.
Robinson has no criminal adjudications.
