Man Arrested in Archer For Child Neglect, Hit and Run and Fleeing Police; Alleges Gas Pedal Was Stuck
Skyler Matthrw Riker, 33, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with leaving the scene after causing a crash, fleeing police, and child neglect.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Adam Gargulak was at Circle K (12771 SW State RD 45) when the victim told him that Riker hit their car and was leaving.
Riker reportedly drove one mile while Gargluck had his lights on before stopping. Riker told Gargulak he left his young kids at the Circle K. Riker alleged he “didn’t forget them” and that his gas pedal was “stuck.”
In February, Riker was found convicted of meth possession, burglary, grand theft and tampering with evidence in Polk County court.
Riker’s bond is set at $15,000.
