Man Arrested on Two Domestic Battery Counts After Alleged Attack with Potted Plant
Jamori Jovontea Williams, 29, was arrested Saturday night and charged with two counts of domestic battery.
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy James Leber responded to the scene to find a broken potted plant on the driveway.
Both victims stated they had a loud argument that didn’t become physical.
Leber reported that Williams “initially denied anything physical occurring. Then he alleged [one of the victims] tried to grab his hair, so he pushed her away in self-defense. He further stated that [the victim] also threw the plant pot at him, so he caught it, at which point he heard neighbors yelling at him to stop. He denied striking either victim.”
Two witnesses reportedly told deputies they saw Williams punch both victims and smash the potted plant over one of their heads.
Williams' bond is set at $10,000.
