Man Charged With Battery Against Elderly Person & Robbery After Sudden Snatching

On Wednesday afternoon, Timothy McCord approached a 65-year-old man walking on the sidewalk near Circle K (3525 SW 34th St). McCord asked the man for money to buy alcohol. The man declined, telling McCord he only had $3.00.

According to McCord's arrest report, he responded by “[snatching] the $3.00 from the victim’s hands, grabbing the victim by the back of his neck, and [swinging him] onto the ground.” McCord then kicked him in his rib cage at least four times.

The elderly man was still able to walk and proceeded to Circle K. McCord followed him and reportedly yelled inside the store, “I’ll beat you to death if you don’t go out and make me some money.”

Multiple people witnessed the incident. McCord still denied battering the man and snatching his money during his police interview.

McCord was charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older and robbery—by sudden snatching without a firearm or weapon.

McCord is listed as occupationally homeless in his arrest report with no registered address currently.

McCord has four felony adjunctions, with one being drug-related and the three others being violent crimes. He additionally has ten misdemeanor adjunctions for violent crimes.
