Man Convicted of Punching Woman in Head Arrested for Domestic Battery
Xavier Lamar Fred Dinkins, 33, was arrested on Saturday and charged with domestic battery.
Alachua Police Department (APD) Officer Cesar Vargas reported the victim and Dinkins were in a heated verbal argument when Dinkins held the victim against a wall while yelling at her.
Dinkins was also booked for a 2022 larceny case where he allegedly stole $1,500 from a Circle K cash register. The case has been open for over two years.
Dinkins was released on a $3,500 bond.
In 2014, Dinkins was convicted of battery for punching a woman in the back of her head.
In 2010, the Gainesville Sun reported that Dinkins was arrested for possessing meth and threatening to shoot a woman because she rejected his advances. Dinkins was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, drug possession and maintaining a location for drug use or distribution. Dinkins' aggravated assault charge was dropped but he was convicted of his drug charges.
