Man Denies Domestic Battery Allegations Despite Physical Evidence
Vincent Griffin, 38, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with domestic battery.
The victim told police Griffin verbally assaulted her during an argument before he escalated to physical violence. Griffin reportedly held the victim against a wall while strangling her. Griffin shoving the victim against the wall created a hole in the drywall.
Griffin denied all the allegations and claimed the victim created the hole by shoving him into the wall. The victim had physical injuries.
Griffin’s arresting officer, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Deputy Alexis Nelson, reported, “Vincent is currently on probationary status, but his probation officer could not be contacted at the time of arrest to determine if a violation occurred. There are no prior battery convictions.”
Griffin was released on a $10,000 bond.
In August 2022, Griffin was arrested and charged with domestic battery, but the case was dropped. There was allegedly physical evidence indicating that Griffin shoved the victim into a wall, in addition to the victim’s physical injuries.
