Anthony L Tyson, 51, was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

While in a parking lot, the victim believed Tyson intended to hit her with his car. Tyson got out of his car and began approaching the victim with a knife, causing her to flee in a vehicle.

Tyson got back in his car and began chasing the victim. A witness got in between their cars with his car, allowing the victim to escape. The witness confirmed the assault to police.

After his arrest, Tyson denied pulling out the knife but admitted a verbal altercation occurred. Tyson had a knife sheath on his waist and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office reportedly found a large hunting knife in his vehicle.

Tyson was released after posting a $50,000 bond. Tyson has been ordered to not contact the victim and not possess any weapons.
