Man Released on Bond After Child Abuse Arrest

Jermaine Rashard Chism, 31, was arrested last week and charged with child abuse. 

The victim’s mother observed bruises on him when she picked him up from daycare. 

The victim told the Child Advocacy Center that Chism hit him with a large stick and indicated that Chism has a history of physical abuse. 

Chism was released on Thursday after posting a $30,000 bond.  

Chism was sentenced to a year of probation and granted a withheld adjudication in a 2018 domestic battery case where he physically and verbally abused the victim.
