Man Sentenced to Seven Months in Jail for Sexually Assaulting Wawa Employee
Benjamin Franklin Cunningham, 35, was convicted of indecent exposure on Tuesday and sentenced to serve seven months in jail with 51 days time served.
Cunningham was caught on a Wawa (1007 E University Ave) security camera exposing his penis to an employee.
Gainesville Police Department Officer E. M. Escobar reported Cunningham exposed his penis “in a vulgar manner.”
The arrest report states Cunningham exposed himself to the victim, walked away, and then came back and exposed himself again, but he was only charged with one count of indecent exposure.
Cunningham eventually exited the Wawa but continued staring at the victim through a window.
Cunningham came back to the Wawa later in an attempt to apologize for his actions.
The victim told Escobar that Cunningham was a regular customer at the Wawa.
This is not the first time Cunningham has been convicted of indecent exposure.
On December 23, 2014, Cunningham was convicted of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct and sentenced to 11 months in jail with 112 days time served. The sworn complaint with the details in this case is currently unavailable.
