Man Arrested Twice for Battery Now Arrested for Hitting Woman With Vehicle
A man who was previously released in two counties, awaiting battery charges in Levy and Alachua, was arrested again in Gainesville for deliberately hitting a woman with a vehicle.
Adrian Dixon was charged with a person using a deadly weapon after he allegedly hit a woman with a car on purpose when leaving a parking lot after a verbal dispute. The incident occurred on February 8th, 2024, and Dixon was arrested on a warrant last Tuesday.
The police report states an officer was present on the scene at the Gainesville Supermarket and saw Dixon hit the woman with his vehicle, with the victim stating he was making threats towards her before doing so.
Dixon was previously arrested on March 28, 2023 in Alachua county for domestic battery and criminal mischief.
He was released on a $65,000 bond.
Dixon was arrested again on November 4, 2023 on a warrant for property damage and battery in Levy County.
Dixon was released from the Levy County Correctional Facility on a $60,000 bond.
This time the Florida State Attorney's Office has filed a motion for pre trial detention against Dixon. As of now, he is still detained.
